Troubleshooting after rejetting
Don't think about it in terms of
RPM
Divide the throttle into 1/4's
problems with ;
first 1/4 = Idle mixture
2nd and 3rd 1/4 = needle position
4th 1/4 = main jet
The carb manufacturer says that if
you need less than
one and a half turns on the Idle jet or more than three
then change something else (needle) 1/4 turn = 20% change in flow
if you get the needle up to the 4th position and still
run lean or have an off idle flat spot go up one main
jet size even if the one you have seems fine.
Remember that you should be fat on acceleration.
'cause of the accelerator. pump-you are shooting for 14:1 at cruising
RPM but should be fat again at WOT.
and change only one thing at a time so you have a true result.
Careful jetting is tedious but pays off.
good luck
